Babysitting implies an end time. When your friend asks—no, begs—you to watch their tyrannical toddler for a few hours, you might only oblige because of the finite nature of the favor. If all of a sudden, your friend decided to cosplay as a responsibility-free, single person for a few days, you might start to rethink their parenting skills. 

This entitled mom left her 4-year-old daughter with her friend under the guise of 'going to a movie,' but then took days to become reachable, leaving her homie and (ex) babysitter to fend for her kid indefinitely. However, the babysitter was a mother of two herself and refused to shoulder the responsibility for a 3rd without ample compensation.
